Layerlab acquires Midorion AB

Midorion AB has been developing electrical biosensors and surface chemistries based on nano and micro technologies since 2004. Midorion was originally a spin-off from Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg University. Layerlab’s first RESI technology based biosensor, z-LAB is developed from a Midorion prototype launched in early 2009.

The acquisition of Midorion opens up new opportunities for both TELI, BNCS and RESI technology in a wider range of applications. “Midorion and Layerlab have many synergies that could be exploited,” believes Torbjörn Pettersson, CEO Layerlab. Particular areas of common interest are in application development, products, distribution and sales.

“This is a very positive development from Layerlab’s perspective,” says Torbjörn Pettersson, “as it has the potential to bring our both TELI and RESI technology to the attention of new customers.”
